Prithwiraj Bhattacharjee:  Director - Percussion                                                                           (Tabla)

 

 

Prithwiraj Bhattacharjee,  among the most accomplished and leading tabla players today. He received his training from Tabla legends (Late) Ustad Alla Rakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain.

 

Blessed with incredibly dexterous fingers and innate creativity, he is one of the most sought after and accomplished Tabla players of his generation.

 

Prithwiraj has accompanied renowned musicians as well as given solo performances at several prestigious concerts all over India, US and other countries globally.  Prithwiraj has accompanied many eminent artists, including Pandit Jasraj, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Tejendra Narayan Majumder, Kala Ramnath, Rahul Sharma, Laxmi Shankar  at several prestigious festivals and concerts in India, USA and globally.

 

Prithwiraj’s has recently released a book – “Essence of Rhythm from Punjab Gharana”, based on his own original compositions and creations.  The book has received appreciation and raving reviews globally by eminent musicians, Tabla players and students of Indian Classical Music..

Pritam Bhattacharjee:  Director - Classical Vocal

 

 

Blessed with a mellifluous voice and exceptional versatility, Pritam Bhattacharjee is one of the most accomplished and acclaimed Indian Classical vocalists of his generation internationally.  Pritam Bhattacharjee recieved training under the tutelage of the Mewati Maestro - Sangeet Martand Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj ji and is ably carrying forward the rich Mewati tradition and legacy..

 

Pritam has performed at many concerts and prestigious festivals in India, US, Canada and several other countries globally.  Most recently he performed a unique Jugalbandi

along with world renowned sitar maestro , Ustad Shahid Parvez.

 

 

Pritam was recently awarded with ‘Acharya Varishtha’ title by Pandit Jasraj Institute of Music Appreciation, Research and Artistry, New York in 2012 and with ‘Sangeet Acharya’ title in 2006. 

 

Pritam was felicitated by the Mayor of the City of Tulsa for his excellent performance along with the world renowned Tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain in 2009.

 

Pritam has written and composed over 300 compositions of his own in different melodic patterns and complex rhythm cycles which he has presented at several festivals. Pritam has also experimented with different genres of music through his

performances and compositions.

 

 

Pritam has several CDs to his credit including ‘Soulful Melodies’ (2007), ‘Spandan’ (2009) and his latest album ‘Mewati Heritage’ (2012) which has been widely appreciated by musicians and music connoisseurs globally.
